Interesting, following on from that link I note the reference to ECO vs lighter loads re the tyre pressures

https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...bat-2019-18w17

Presuming the car comes from PDI set at ECO, has anybody tried lowering the pressures, would a difference in 30kPa improve ride quality? I must admit I find the ride harsh on bad roads.

Actually, found this already discussed and answered here

I'm actually 5 miles outside of Eastbourne which makes quite a difference. Eastbourne gets a lot of Sun and therefore heat due to the micro climate caused by Beachy Head. However, travelling North, which I do frequently, means going over a significant ridge which is notorious for ice and snow.

Even with the lovely warm and sunny Indian summer at the moment night time temperatures are around 5 degrees

From that link the "best" rims / tyre combination would be 18" high profile - 235/60R18 7,5x18x50,5 for winter driving?

I have 235/60R18 Volvo wheels with Conti winter tyres for my XC90. I actually prefer the smoother, quieter ride I get on this combination compared to my summer combination of 235/55R19 + Pirellis.

I never thought I'd say that Contis were quieter than, well, any other tyre.

Here’s a propper pic, as some have requested. Also sporting my new Volvo roof bars- must say very happy with these. They’re made by Thule for Volvo but are cheaper than Tule Wingbar Edge (comparable Thule model..) by about €50.. Additionally, unlike Thule which comes with an allen wrench- these have an integrated torque wrench on all 4 corners- very cool and super easy to install/remove. The height is about 1” above the shark fin- so it’s as low as it gets and as quiet as Thule Wingbar Edge, which I had on my old V60..
