Turbo or supercharger? 122S b20b
Anyone fitted a turbo or supercharger to a b20b? Not really into a whole engine transplant from a 240 etc so was looking for some easy gains to an already perky b20 that sits happily at 85mph in overdrive. Just looking for a little more action lower down

Conventional wisdom would say a supercharger will provide a more immediate boost and therefore will help with lower engine speeds.
On the whole turbo charging is deemed to be a better choice for the amount of effort and money needed for the modifications. I'm not 100% sure but it might be possible to get what you want from a modern fuel injection system - this is something you would probably end up "having to do" to get a supercharger and / or turbo charger to work efficiently for you anyway (I'm not saying a modern programmable computer controlled fuel injection system is the only way to control boost but it sure makes sense these days instead of playing about with the dark arts you can actually measure and see) A programmable fuel injection system will probably eat up the best part of 2K (if you're lucky) - bearing that in mind a modern engine swap becomes a much more interesting proposition...
