VIDA worth its weight in gold
I have hardly used my 2005 exec recently, for obvious reasons. So when I started it up, to go buy bread and milk 3 days ago, and it dropped into Limp Mode as soon as I left the drive, my first thought was sticky turbo inlet guide vanes - again.
So I limped there and back and attached VIDA. ECM-140A Intake Pressure Sensor. Faulty Signal However I never take DTCs at face value. Test, test, test. VIDA can read the output of the sensor directly and when I did, it was obvious straight away that it was truly faulty. Engine off, the Ambient pressure read 1005Hpa, Inlet Pressure 745Hpa. Ordered a genuine used sensor with the identical part no. (2 years older than my car) from a breaker on eBay. Fitted it today and it's now all fixed - total cost £12.70. VIDA saved me hours of diagnosis (guessing) and cash.
