I had the green flag out, between him and me stupidvising (he couldnt see), we got it open by him using his long rod and pulled the bonnet latch.....

Have tried the alternator method and it defo does not work
Bashy where did your RAC chap insert a rod in order to pull the bonnet latch please |

After 2 hours gave up and called recovery
They sent a Polish geezer who spoke almost no English, he tried twisting the drivers door and getting a wire in, failed ad disappeared into the sunset !!! Waiting for mechanic number 2 ........ |

Use the 'Search this Forum' at top right of 850 x70 section, try 'bonnet release cable' and there's a number of threads on how to open the bonnet when the cable is broken which usually involves taking the indicator out to get to the catch.

In the cabin, that latch handle thingy, Bent door outwards a touch, pump wedged it etc...

Idiot number 2 had no more idea than number 1 so at the moment she is lined up for revovery on Monday to the ever helpful Langthorne Services. The guvnor there says he could open it underneath with a 12volt torch battery as per 4 x 4 suggestion so I have no idea why it will not work for me Shame I did not get your post earlier Bash, boy of Poland Had a wire long enough to reach as he quickly lost the battle with the deadlock ! |

Danny was somewhat hopeful with his 2 minutes but with the girl suspended at head height and him using various screwdrivers and a boost pack she eventually opened with contact made on the alternator connection point - closer to 15 mins all told
