V70 Mk3 d5 tow bar
Hi everybody
This is my first post so please excuse me if I ask silly questions. I've recently bought a 2008 mk3 v70 d5 and I'm looking to get a genuine Volvo tow bar. The car has had a tow bar in the past which the dealer removed back in 2014 aghhh. Hopefully if I can get a decent used Volvo one I'm hoping it will bolt straight on so my questions are. Does the bumper need to be removed if the holes and bumper cut out are already there. I've seen a used one online but the electrics look to have been chopped up so I'm writing those off. Could I fit the tow bar first and easily fit the electrics at a later date without having to remove the bumper if it does need to come off? If you can think of anything I might have missed or have any suggestions for places to look for what I need I would love to hear from you as I've never had any dealings with tow bars full stop. Thanks |

If the towbar has been fitted before there should be a cut out under the bumper. The slots for it are already there and it's an easy fit after the bumper and crash bar are removed.
The instructions are on the volvo website. Just find your car here. http://accessories.volvocars.com/en-...2013/D5/Manual The wiring module plugs in and is programmed by the dealer to activate the anti-sway feature. Last edited by Billggski; Sep 22nd, 2017 at 16:45. |

I have available for sale a genuine Volvo detachable towbar with 13 pin socket and the all-important trailer module which plugs into the loom under the boot floor. If you're interested, I'll drop you a message with my email address and we can discuss further . Happy to package up and send up to you.
