360 View vs. Rear Park Assist Caemra vs. Auto Park Assist
Default 360 View vs. Rear Park Assist Caemra vs. Auto Park Assist
Hi I am buying a new Volvo XC90 (my first 4X4 and Volvo). I drive BMW 5 series and need a 7 seater so decided to go for Volvo after test drive. Looking at the options for Parking aid..there are 3 1) Rear Parking Camera 2) Surround Camera 3) Auto Park Assist Pilot I am wondering if any of you have gone for either or all?. if so do you find them helpful? Much appreciate your reply best regards |

I have the 2017 model ( March this year). I got the momentum with bliss and Xenium pack which included 360o camera and park assist. I use the 360o camera all the time but never use the parking system which self parks. The 360o system is great and you can select any of the 4 cameras and as I have a towbar it has a system to select a line to reverse. There are also front and rear sensors for park assist and again I do use this in conjunction with the cameras since in certain circumstances the camera can't always see what is close behind whereas the sensors warn of impending doom . I would always like the 2 systems and my wife also.

Not tried all yet but have looked at those as I was configuring mine and spoke to dealer etc.
Went for 360 and sensors as it seems the best option. Was planning to add the auto park assist but was told that the system is too sensitive and often it will not signal when a space is available as it is too "demanding" |

I'd echo all the above
I have a May 2017 R Design V90 with Xenium pack 360 parking camera is the biz, and made negotiating a tight multi storey car park a breeze. I wouldn't have got out without kerbing all 4 alloys without it. Rear camera is good to have but the 4 cameras stitching a 360 overhead view is much better Haven't tried the park assist pilot but seems a bit of a gimmick - why would you need it? |
