Default Bosch Distributor rebuild kits ??

Gents, any of you know where to buy Bosch distributor rebuild kits? Have a couple of units that I'd like to refurb. Particularly looking for the fibre washers and shims.

Thank you, Andrew

Brookhouse has this.

Not sure there is anything more extensive available.

thanks c1800, Brookhouse was my first port of call. I'm specifically after a thrust shim and fibre washer kit. I've found some for the JFR4 Porsche 356 in the US but they want between £48-£67 for a set of shims/washers...which is daylight robbery. Guess I'll have to keep searching

Roger Bray Restorations (Porsche) down here in Exeter used to do them not long ago, but I just checked on their website to see that they're not listed. However, I would give them a try. I see they do springs, but can't see the shims.

Otherwise, try a few of the VW places - VW Heritage, Just Campers and Custom and Commercial. I find Just Campers extremely helpful and had a recent conversation with them about many Volvo parts being the same as VW!

As a last one, I have a few knackered distributors here if you want to raid them.

Another option might be to get one of those ultra cheap aircooled VW complete distributors from somewhere like Acuspark and carry out some surgery. I have to say it that I am through with expensive distributors for VW's and they last no longer than these cheap ones. SO I buy a couple at a time and bin them when they start to wear. £35 all in!!!

All said, I have never had a problem with a bit of up and down movement in those shafts.

Thanks S&G, that's great recommendation. I was about to call Just Campers as have always heard they're super helpful. Plus, Roger Bray, that's a blast from the past...didn't realise Roger was still working as thought he'd retired. He's well known in 356 and 914 circles. Many moons ago he bare metal resprayed my 1971 Signal Orange Porsche 914 for the previous owner. A+
