Default 740 Immobiliser

Hello

Just wondered if anyone knew the best way to fit an immobiliser, to the ignition or fuel system with a possible hiden or fake dashboard switch.

Thank you

A good immobiliser will cut 3 circuits such as fuel pump , ignition feed and starter feed , all using black wire and hiding as much of it as possible .... It all add up to the thief giving up after 30 mins trying to bypass it ! I would buy a thatcham approved immobiliser kit .

I can give you a circuit and components list with instructions how to fit/wire it that uses a switch hidden "in full view" (think about it! Best place to hide a tree is in a forest........) that automatically sets itself when the ignition is switched off. Cost is about £30 for the bits and if fitted correctly cuts the fuel pumps, ignition system, instrument cluster (inc gauges and warning lights) and several other circuits.

If you're interested, PM me for the details.

Alternatively a Thatcham-Approved Immobiliser is another good option but they normally have to be fitted by the supplier to be "officially" approved.

See Laird Scooby's reply to you, have a word with him, he has helped me no end with one for me, although I've not got around to fitting mine yet, it is a simple procedure and a very good idea for little cost. David.
