Your issues with the swirl flaps are identical to mine. It's EGR junk that comes oozing out of the orifice where the swirl arm goes in. Ours, too, has a swirl axle that just flaps around with no feeling of mechanical security. This is why I'm interested in your post. What did you find?

Only just replaced the swirl flaps a few hours ago after finally extracting the stuck injector (had to buy an extractor tool in the end).

I've still got a lot of cleaning to do as the inlet manifold and EGR piping is filthy. It's all soaking with carb cleaner overnight. Will hopefully get this all finished tomorrow morning and will do a proper write-up, assuming nothing else goes wrong.

More pics if you can take them. Why does gunk come out of the flap linkage?
