Default V60 D4 r design pro Sim card holder

Just a little point of interest to owner/prospective buyers of this model where the Sim card holder is on the passenger footwell it is a little awkward to insert
(it was for me 73 years old )
their is a gap between the bodywork and the carpet trim of about 30mm and to my horror I dropped the Sim holder with new £30 top-up Sim card in
IMPOSSIBLE to retrieve had to buy new Sim card
pack it with piece of foam
hope this helps

This is quite a common problem, there are articles on the forum of how people have managed to retrieve them.

Its definitely retrievable - I know from personal experience having done the same thing.

If you are a bit brave with pulling back the carpet you can just about get behind it enough to fish it out from the bottom of the footwell - it requires the carpet to be pulled away from the door area a fair bit but it will push back quite easily and is time wise the most effective method I guess.

I doubt this is the text book solution to the problem but I retrieved it with 3 or 4 minutes and there's no sign of having moved anything.

Truthfully it a pretty daft thing to have a hole in the moulding where the SIM goes, its obvious it will drop down there at some point.

I think the V90 location might be worse - at the base of the rear seats accessed from the boot! You basically have to crawl in under the boot floor cover lol and there is a gap to lose it down too, but not sure where it would end up

Oh and I managed to snap the SIM holder in half because it was such a stretch I put it in upside down. It still works but you need needle nose pliers for it now!
