Default DTSC - how do you switch it on?

Good evening,
I've taken in my dad 's 1.6 2007 s40. The message on the fan states that the DTSC is switched off and the yellow triangle light is permanently on. I also have the anti skid service required notice as well.

How do you turn the dtsc back on?

Many thanks

It’s on because there is a fault on the system and it has switched the DTSC off.

You need to have the codes read to find out what the problem is.

Once you know what the codes are then you can start to resolve the issue.

It should turn on by itself when you start the car. It can happen that it becomes temporarily disabled, in this case it turns on after you drive a few meters.
If it stays off, you will need to visit a mechanic.

At a guess, one of the wheel speed sensors has gone faulty. As the ABS and DSTC work off these sensors. You'll probably need to get it plugged into a diagnostic tool to find out more.

Or as in my case, pull the ABS fuse, clean the dirty contacts and replace with the codes dropping off accordingly. Worth a try.
