I remember once when I was a child the four of us sat in a 740's boot side by side without seatbelts and were told by the adults to duck if we saw any police

The dog was shoved in the back with us too

In my younger days I got seven adults in a Volvo estate without recourse to fitted boot seats. It was in France and whilst my French is not very good the locals were definitely saying something about the English in a Volvo.

My thoughts entirely Dai - Volvo made them rear facing for a reason......

All you need is the 'alternative' plastic vent fitting to accept the seat belt strap. All the holes/threaded nuts are already built in. You may have to pierce the trim in a couple of places to find them!

Just make sure you get EVERYTHING needed off the donor or you can get stuck. Later 745/earlier 940 seats with arm rests are better than the later ones without.

As Bob says, make sure you get everything. I knew I'd seen something on this somewhere, it turns out it's all in the VOC 700/900 FAQ at https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/Bod...gon_Third_Seat with tips on bits that might break,

and there's a link to a PDF which does mention drilling etc, maybe for older models, at
http://www.cleanflametrap.com/thirdseat.html
