My 240 SE was going for its MOT tomorrow so set off to leave it at the garage this afternoon. Me in 240SE following my wife in 240GLT.
She has pulled out onto main road and had to stop because of approaching bus, I stopped and got hit from behind by a woman in Vauxhall Zafira who was following me out of side road trying to jump into a gap, looking left accelerated didn't see me until she hit.
The SE then rolls forward giving our GLT a nudge.
Upshot SE has bent towbar, and stoved in offside corner, tailgate crimped and can't open. GLT seems to have escaped with a no damage apart from the chrome trim along the bumper has sprung loose. Thank god it didn't have a towbar fitted or the SE would have been done both ends.

I'm assuming insurance will want to right off the SE as repairs look well beyond market value.

And I was feeling so happy having just got the 240 fleet up to three.

Not good. At least you avoided the manslaughter charge.

I hope you manage to get it sorted.

Hi,

Jeez.. Can't some people look!!!
Not recognise a spot where a quick pust is likely to be risky??

Hope you get things sorted, none too painfully.
Happy to hear you both are, at least unhurt.. Or was that a twinge you just had in your neck??

Des. . .

Hi Ken,
We got hit in our Volvo 245 and their insurer offered write off value and I was wild because the car should not be written off it was in too good a condition. Then I had a brainwave the contract to accept write off value exists only between you and your company and the other party and their own company. No contract to accept anything exists between you and them so what I did was tell them I was claiming full cost of repair and was not interested in write off and if they wanted to argue I would go to small claims court against their insured. They paid $1000 over write off value.
Regards,
Checkpoint Charlie
