Xenon headlamp converters
Am travelling to France in a couple of months, need advice re headlamp converters pls - hv 2010 MY XC90 with Active Xenons and am sure I read somewhere that you can adjust these somehow from inside car for use when driving on continent so no need for stick-on headlamp converters, in fact think I also read you must not use these stick ons due to heat generated by the xenons causing some damage?
Can someone give me the definitive answer pls? |

From my manual:
Active Bi-Xenon Lights, ABL (option) The ABL headlamps’ headlamp pattern follows the movements of the steering wheel during driving. The function is activated automatically when the car is started and can be deactivated/activated by pressing the button. The LED in the button illuminates when the function is activated. Shifting headlamp pattern for right/lefthand traffic Hold the button depressed for at least 5 seconds. The car must be stationary when the headlamp pattern is shifted. The message DIPPED BEAM SETT. F. RIGHT TRAFFIC or DIPPED BEAM SETT. F. LEFT TRAFFIC is shown in the display. For more information and adapting headlamp pattern for halogen or Bi-Xenon headlamps, see page 146. |

I would think it is easy to check, headlights should point towards the nearside so checking if yours is correct should be a matter of parking in fornt of a wall and having a bit of a play. |
