I had a look in a different showroom today. There were 2 new XC60s, a R -Design and a Inscription, both were wearing Michelin .
I was pleased to see the Inscription with black interior as that is what I've ordered, looks good, so I'm happy with my choice.

Thanks for posting the photos. I have been intrigued by the styling of the door panels visible in other photos but your photos show the shape of the door panels more clearly than any I have seen before and confirm to me that I dislike that aspect of the styling. The rear looks over-fussy too. I'll be interested to see the real thing to see if it looks any better in real life.

This was a R-design with that metallic white paint.

It looks pretty good, perhaps the photos can't convey it.

I saw one in a showroom yesterday. I do like the new lights but that grill...

I just don't like the excess chrome. It reminds me of american cars which are horrendous.

It's not a tall car, which makes it look pretty good.

Thumbs up

Well had my test drive today in a D5 Inscription with 20" wheels. Overall the impression was a good one. Nicely built car which seemed bigger in the flesh than I was expecting. Took it for a spin down some country roads and three things were noticeable, a hesitation when you first touch the accelerator, the softness of the suspension and the lack of feedback in the steering. Now this had air suspension and 20" wheels. When I switched to dynamic mode it tightened up a lot and the throttle response was better. I am used to an R Design suspension so this may be why I found it soft. The ride over bumps was good, better than my present car which is encouraging for the big wheel sizes and air suspension.
The driving experience is good, the position lower than the present design and visibility excellent. The 360 camera is brilliant for reversing and manoeuvring into tight spaces.

Impressed with the touch screen and layout of the controls, it's funny to find the handbrake in the middle now !.

Overall a luxury feeling to the car. I am hoping the R Design is a bit firmer and with some feedback in the steering. I am sure you could get used to the steering but it's a bit like steering a car through a PC joystick.

The car I have ordered is a T5 R Design Pro with 21" wheels so it's a case of wait and see how she drives. No regrets on my decision, can't wait until Sept

Im not sold on the overall shape, the bonnet is too long and the wings dont seem to flow to the C panels

I think it definitely looks better in the metal than a photo.
It's the interior that does it for me.

I actually like the looks better than the present model, it is big though, I mistook it for an XC90 from a distance.
