Default Wiper relay identification

I have found the wiper relay behind kick panel as described in haynes, but there are two there.
One is green with numbers 898326 and 1 348 600.
The other is yellow with 888465 and 136 516.

Any one know which is which, and also which number I need to use when ordering.
Thanks.

These long time elapses are very strange! Obviously David took the trouble to trawl back through the masses of requests that occur on a popular Volvo, but I suppose one could criticise the OP for not advising that he found the answer. Surely the OP and myself aint the only 240 owners who have had problems in that department?
On my several 240s over the years the green one is probably the bulb failure warning relay, but the OP didn't say if a failure had shown up on his instrument binnacle........
All history now.

It's easy to test whether a relay isn't the one you want, because if you unplug it something else stops working. When you unplug the faulty one, nothing changes.

Each time I do identify a relay I mean to label it, but I never do because I am too exited about having made something work to give a thought to the next time.

LOTS of useful relay info here along with pictures and numbers of pretty well all of the relays you're likely to encounter on the 240/700/900 series.

http://www.davebarton.com/volvorelays.html

This is also on our own site but mostly related to 700/900. Repair info relevant to all relays.
