Default just to say hi from a new proud 145 owner

Hi to everyone,
I have recently bought a 1973 volvo 145 delux in sun yellow,it has 4 spd manual/overdrive.It needs slight paint but no welding exept from 2 new front wings, i already have the new wings just waiting to replace them and paint down both sides to freshen her up ready for some events next year.
I have joined the voc in october and i have managed to get to one meet at Bolton abby train station, i was only there for a few hours but met some nice people with a wide range of interesting volvo cars.

The volvo is used on a daily basis in all weather as they should be,work horse ,pleasure bus and holiday wagon.
I have had some teathing problems, water leaks windscreen,i hve sorted that on (new screen)brake fault traced to faulty servo oneway valve, and clattering and rattles from the camshaft side of the engine (thaught engine shot) but found fault ,she had had a new clutch fitted by persons who will remain incogneto who had forgotern to tighten housing bolts and starter bolts, after these were sorted no more rattles.
I am in the north west of England would like to make contact with other volvo owners, will be at next years meets.

cheers .

Hi, Iwill try to post some pics to the forum when i find out how to do it.
My car has been fitted with 7 seats including belts this seemed to attract alot of attention at the last meet i went to, is this a rare up grade.
I was asked at the time will i take photos of all the belt mounts and i will as soon as i can.

Hi, I've just joined the club and have a 145.....see picture. I'm also lucky enough to have an Amazon and P1800.

I do like the 145. This one has never been welded or painted and has covered under 60,000 miles so far. A superb old car.

How many more 145s are out there?

I hope to catch up with other club member some time in the very near future.

Hi, and welcome!

The 145 looks great; is that a genuine Volvo roof rack?

Hope to see your car at some club meets

Cheers

Hello Gents,

Yep, it's a genuine roofrack. It took some finding. It is massive.

I’m really pleased with the car. It belonged to Terry Venables family from new, until I bought it. All that I have had to do is replace all rubber components (tyres, cooling hoses, brake hoses, grommets etc) . Everything else is original, even the wiper blade bodies.

I hope to bump into you at one of the meets in the new year. I’ll try to put some more picks of the car up shortly.

Darren.

Default Speaking of wipers.......

Beautyful 145! :-) Congrats on such a nice find!

Speaking of wipers:

Isn't it 'funny' that Volvo never "'righthand-drive'ed" the wipers?

I mean, the biggest wiped surface, will be on your passanger-side in UK? Or? - maybe it dosen't bother you guys?
How are wipers on other makes in UK - Does a UK-make car have wipers that move right-to-left-and-back or?..

I've got a '71 145 Express that I'm collecting parts for, will be a NOS restoration...
