Smile Oil Level/Menu access

Hi,

I've just bought a '14 plate V40 SE Lux Nav D3.

I keep getting a warning for to top up 0.5L of oil, which I have done and it keeps alerting.
I've tried to check the oil level, but the Oil sub-system is 'greyed-out' and inaccessible through the dash system. Any ideas or do I remortgage and go to my local dealership?

Thanks

Maybe you hadn't left it for at least 2 hours before checking? The owner's manual is pretty clear on using the e-dipstick... if you haven't got one they can be downloaded from here:
https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/manuals

How many times have you actually added 0.5L of oil? Did the car come with any sort of warranty?

Hi, and thanks.Yes 3 months warranty and only once - have found out (roughly) wrt oil level menu; I'd been trying to read it whilst driving it (stationary at lights etc) and now know I need to do it cold and not running.

Schoolboy error! (it's my first Volvo, but I'm loving it!!)

Should be able to use it now!

Not unusual to have to add oil to these engines, although a few do use a little too much.

My V70 is only accessible with the engine not running and in start position 2 (press button twice).
