By the green led on the console do you mean the back light behind the climate and radio controls? That's on all the time as that comes on when the headlights are activated, as they are on all the time (day time running lights) the back light on the controls and dials are on all the time as well. I believe drl's can be tuned off with a software update from a main dealer.

I haven't bothered with the side markers as I'm not sure what the benefit may be?
Are these lights at the back of the console i;e where the little tray is behind all the knobs and buttons?

No it's the little green light on the courtesy and map reading panel, there is a little green light set in to the panel.

this is the light that I am on about below:

Has anyone else had issues when they have put in led's to the courtesy lights that they seem to have a constant feed, ie one of the diodes is very faintly lit all the time?

Strange, i have never seen that on mine and unfortunately I've just dropped the car off at the garage for the free health check. I did have a quick look on the way in but didn't spot it, I'll have another look later when i pick it up.

Not sure but is it linked with the deadlock deactivation? I may be way off though...

Picked the car up this afternoon and couldn't see the led until I looked up at it from below, I have to admit I have never noticed it before. I will be heading out a bit later on so I will be able to see if it is more noticeable in the dark, hopefully it is just for illuminating the gear lever area (like on BMW's & my previous Mini) otherwise no idea what its for. I have the car set to lock automatically so I will turn that off and see if that makes any difference. Is it in the hand book?

Yes, mine too! Very dim, almost like there is some kind of power stored in them. they also stay dim after engine is turned off and key taken out for a while?

Has it ever caused any problems with the battery? What's the longest you have left the car without it been started? Seems to be a constant issue when changing to led's that they stay very faint
