Good Day, How do you get trouble codes from an 87 740 non turbo???

Do our cars have this? mine is an 89 GLE Estate. I was under the impression the OBD readers were fairly recent and certainly not available on cars made before 1992.

According to the Haynes, the B234F Engine with LH2.4 has it.
I dont know whether the same applies to the US market or not... My 1991 960 has OBD.. Dunno if your Turbo has or not, James.. if you wanted to play...

Uk market non turbo 'F' engines have LH2.4 inj and so OBD and thus trouble codes, 'E' engines are all K-Jetronic and so don't.
