Hi Gilson,

The Nissen Rad fitted without issue, it has an extra rubber bung compared to the OEM one fitted to my 2012 model and the drain nipples wern't interchangeable so either they have been updated or Nissen were not the OEM back in 2012 (no idea who is / was btw)

New rad was only £85, i did shop about though, going rate seems to be closer to £100 with the coolant a further £20 or so and £15 of di water.

Honestly anyone who can use a socket set and a set of stands/jack could do it in a few hours,

The most challenging bit is supporting the AC rad but a bit of rope or sting will do it (not the special Volvo tool mentioned in VIDA) its just fiddly, a second pair of hands would of gone a long way.

If the original coolant is Volvo you've got even less work, i had to flush some mismatched coolant an was paranoid about gelling, that said she was super easy to burp and hasn't required topping up in the last week.

A simple ELM dongle was useful to track the coolant temp and check the thermostat was open but far from essential.

I cant comment on the long term obviously, ultimately i suspect even if it does along as the oem one ill of long forgotten this thread.

Rob

I have a leak I think in same place but really struggling to confirm what it is as in I can see coolant in this area but can't see a leak. Seems to be rad hose that goes round the back of the engine where that joins but touch the pipe and it feels dry but this is where the coolant is what else is around this area or have u any advice on how to get to this?

Hi All

I have the V70 D5 Lux (205hp Twin Turbo)

Suffering from a small weeping leak, I examined all of the hoses and connections and could not find a fault. Kept topping up for the next two weeks !!
On a long drive, in the middle of nowhere, I had to stop and refill, then noticed a drop of coolant at the front ...
The culprit was the top hose, under the intake air box, rubbing against the wiring loom.
Made a temp fix with a cycle repair patch and insulation tape.
Purchased a new hose from dealer (£55) which looked to be modified to not rub on the loom, and fitted with a complete refill of the coolant (green)

It was only by chance I found the leak.... so if you have the D5/205/T10 engine check the top hose !!!!!! esp if you have done over 200k miles !!!!
Will add images in the next post
