I took mine off and binned it the other day, wish I'd seen this thread sooner, I could have saved it, as said though it's pretty pointless in this day and age, hence why mines in the bin, the t4 also had one which I also binned, the very very last thing a turboed engine needs is warm air lol

Thanks for the input - What about MOT? Will this or lack of this hose affect MOT?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, as it is only there for the beginning to help warm up the engine a tiny bit faster. Quite a few people have been driving their NA cars around with the hose completely gone and it does not really make a big difference.
It's not like a vacuum hose or something in a closed air or vacuum system, where an air leak would cause enormous problems. It's just an open system where hot air from near the exhaust rises up and goes through the hose to the airbox. If you still insist of having it, then you will need to measure the diameter with a vernier caliper or something similar and then look in local motor factor shops or ebay. Bought one from ebay UK a few years back and sent it to another forum member from Australia, but can't remember what the diameter was

It's true, I've not had one for years either. I think it ended up somewhere down the M62, after a aluminium tape repair failed.

It will affect the MOT about as much as a depleted air freshener hanging from your rear view mirror. Honestly it'll be fine because it doesn't affect emissions, and even if it did, the MOT emissions test is only carried out once the engine is warmed up at which point the pipe will be closed off by the thermostatic valve in the air box.
