Default ticking noise, poss recent injector?

Hi folks, noticed this ticking noise, i am sure its coming form the recently installed injector, i cannot see any leaking but i am sure i can smell something in the cabin when i pull in to the carport, please can you take a wee listen to the video, i can produce a better one with the bonnet open if needed, this was a quicky after the dog walk....

I dont know about a ticking noise but it sounds rough when you are revving it. Look at the auxilary belt is it running smoothly. Can you hear any bearing noise when it is revved up?There seems to be a run of pulley/belt fault threads at the moment.

I dont see or hear anything untoward there, although theres only me so i cant rev it and be there, unless theres a way to do that under the bonnet? Cant you hear that tick, tick, tick, tick, a bit like tappets, but its not, im sure its coming from the injector i put in... will get a better video tomorrow, of there and the belts

Did you use a new washer? Sounds like combustion gasses are leaking through a poor seal.

HI, thanks for the reply, yes i did, i bought a bag of them off of amazon, but i did reuse the clamp and bolts. I have the Volvo clamp, bolts and washer coming in the post now, so hopefully that will sort that then, its strange that mine does not have the metal o-ring....

£38 quid off of eBay for that price it was worth a punt....
Other than the leaking, it solved my poor first start of the day and the rough idle (firing on 4.5 cylinders) for the first few minutes on idle or 1st 200m

yea it'll be **** still, get a diesel specialist to look at them.

I bought a "reconditioned" set for my mondeo - ended up having to be junked replaced with actually reconditioned ones at the specialist

That wouldnt explain the leak and smell of diesel though? The injector works great in comparison to my old one, i have a feeling its either the new copper washer (aftermarket), the "old" clamp or worse case, some deposit in the hole making it not seal the injector properly, the hotter the engine gets the worse the noise is, so its not been in use until the new "Volvo" fitting kit comes.

If i was to put money on it now, i would say its possible a combination of both the copper washer and the worn clamp, the latter has prob lost the tension in it from being bolted down 3 times, twice by me. The original washer had 4 tiny bits removed as though a tiny cross was drawn across, binned it now so cant show it but the new aftermarket (universal) ones obviously dont have these bits removed.

So im prayingthe kit comes today as i need to go shopping tomorrow at the latest....
