Default Ekotek valve?

Has anyone fitted an ekotek valve (or valves) to their T5?
A friend of mine has one on his MG and said it improved his mpg with no negative effects. More mpg would be nice but i want reassurance that it will work on my car before i buy. Also the ekotek website says some cars may need 2 fitting, how many will i need?

AFAIK they've never been proven to provide any benefit and they got into trouble with the ASA for claming they made a difference then not being able to provide any evidence.

Says it all really.

This question has come up many times on our BMW forum, simple answer is you are better off using the money on fuel and enjoying your car or upgrading the air filter. AFAIK they do didly.

Car Mechanics tried the Ecotek on a Corolla about ten years ago and suggested that any improvements that the device might bring would be marginal at best.

I fitted one to my previous car (a Saab). It made no difference whatsoever.
