Default Wing Mirror Cover... HOW MUCH?

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help. I have a V70 on a 52 plate and the off-side wing mirror cover has been smashed off. I can replace the mirror ok but my Volvo main dealer wants £70 + vat to import the new piece of plastic from Sweden which I think is a bit extreme for such a small bit of plastic. I am fully aware that any part from a main dealer will be expensive.

I was wondering with the wealth of knowledge on this site, that someone may know of where I can get this part from at a fraction of the cost. I am not too bothered about the colour!

Thanks

Hi Quirk.
Dont know if they are the same, I have a spare from a V40, the glass surround was broken on mine so I had o buy a complete mirror assembly, so have a spare back I believe its blue, if its on any use, £10 plus the postage.

I got a quote for one last year from Rufe (a member on here) and it was about £61 + about £2.00 postage (both including VAT). That comes in whatever volvo colour you want. I don't think you'll find one cheaper than that unless you go secondhand.

I had the same thing happen on my 850 Estate last year, but was able , courtesy of ebay to get one for £15 plus postage. Removal and replacement is not too bad.

It's usually cheaper to buy a black plastic one, buy the spray and do it yourself with a bit of TLC. Dealers often charge the price for a colour matched back.

I have the same problem for my 51 V70 ... glass easy ... cover harder to find. Check out this link - I've just found a cover for £33 and then you'll have to paint it yourself.
