Question Knocking!!!

Hi all,
Here's an interesting one!!!
I took my son to school yesterday, it was raining, and the roads where wet(obiviously) with a few puddles(not very deep).
I went through a puddle and then it sounded like the exhaust was blowing and knocking from under the car, felt like it was coming from the transmission tunnel with poor running and no power?
Any idea's, it lasted for about 15mins and then it was okay!

seriously confused!

Post Could be anything!

Sounds like it's cleared itself, the only way to find it is to let it develop then a mechanic can diagnose the fault

Hi,
Guess what!
happened again today about 3 times.
Each time the car went through a shallow puddle, the knocking developed, poor running and sounded like a tank, each time within about 5 minutes it cleared itself.
I even tried stopping and having a look, but couldn't see any water on the electrical stuff, got absolutley soaked, much to my son's amusement!

Could be water upsetting the lambda sensor..

Hi Jod,
no dash lights, I know that the lamba sensor is just under the turbo (I think), could it have a dodgy wire, so when the water splashes up and it shorts out until the heat from the exhaust dries it out.
Is this possible or not!
I 've never come across thsi before.
Cheers

Could well be..Sounds plausable...
You will need to jack the car up and check the two sensors, one before the cat and one in it....

Cheers
