Ive heard mixed stories on this one........

1. Not possible as you require an additional usb
2. Of course you can as part of the retro fit, Volvo change the current setup to two usb's.

I know that does not help you but im sure more knowledgeable people will post soon.

What is also coming "ive heard" is Android UI, which will replace the current operating system which in turn will give android auto as standard.

My understanding:

- My20 onwards has the required hardware - you need to cough up to enable AA/Carplay (ie software like Tesla). Included if you opt for upgraded sound (HK or B&W)

I find AA very useful. I would NOT buy a car without it. Actually was the reason why I did not get an X3 which the wife wanted ("a BMW")

Yes, i have a 2019 V90 and had it installed by my dealer. I am not sure whether it can be done on all model years though.

It was £300 and they installed the dual USB sockets and the software for that price. I think the price is the same regardless of whether its software only in the latest models or hardware and software in the earlier ones.

When i did mine last year there were 2 options - £200 for Apple Carplay, no extra USB or £300 for both Apple Carplay and Android Auto with Dual USB ports.

My question, which I hope someone can answer, is what would the advantage be in paying for this extra or, as an alternative, just downloading AA and running it from your phone through Bluetooth?

From where I am sitting I can't see any advantage which would justify the cost. My car only has 1 USB. Have I missed something?

USB cable or bluetooth is the same problem...not AA possible

is it possible to force the installation of an application ?
