  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

1997 auto estate, overdrive isnt working and car wont change up to 4 and wont go over 50mph?.. what could it be?

Have you checked the ATF level? Have you done an ATF change? If so what fluid and what method did you use? Are you losing coolant? Do you know what box you have? What engine is it? Did it happen suddenly or come on gradually? Any other running problems? Has the handbrake seized on? Is the overdrive fuse blown? Is the gearbox ECU (if so equipped) fuse blown?

These are just a few of the possibilities. There are plenty of others!

It's a b200ft Wentworth I think 1994, can't remember the exact year.

I know the "overdrive" has been bypassed so that might be something to do with it

well if the overdrive solenoid has already been bypassed, you have ruled out all the electrical possibilities, leaving only issues with the box itself, but as mentioned, check the box oil, if not red in colour, try a change first.

Derp just spotted that it's not Martin's current car it is one that he is thinking of buying so it is a 1997 B230FK with AW71.
