Volvo guard 11(2)
I am growing increasingly frustrated by the Volvo guard 2 alarm system.Has anybody found a decent aftermarket kit to replace the factory Volvo one. Or are the Volvo relays still available from Volvo, perhaps(frf)?
I've had several used relays from eBay sellers, but these are usually as knackered as the one I already have..... Perhaps a decent aftermarket alarm kit is the way to go? |

Perhaps I'm being naive but I never bother locking mine. I can't see anybody being that interested in 23 year old Volvo estate

Perhaps not in Lenzie but OP lives in a large conurbation on the south coast which has attracted a great variety of "characters" as residents over the years IYKWIM.

https://classics.honestjohn.co.uk/in...dern-classics/ Granted there's only one Volvo in the list and it's an 850 but who knows what the average intellect is of someone who does that for a living? They may not have the mental capacity to differentiate between an 850, 760, 940 or a mouldy mince pie with a Volvo badge stuck on top! Also for the opportunist car thief/joy rider, an unlocked car is an open invitation. Just for fun, your insurance company would void the policy too if they somehow discovered you don't bother locking it! PS the #1 car on that list is a real surprise!

We have had several youngsters politely knocking our door to ask if the 945 is for sale. Apparently the long sleek lines are attractive to the younger generation as opposed to modern cars. I think there is even one featured in a burger advert.
Also understand they are popular for lowering and blacking out the windows or for turning into drift cars so we should all be conscious of security. I bought an additional steering lock that fits the 940 steering wheel and dash well. Cheers, LeeP |

It's not just another old Volvo Mark, it's your old Volvo and you've invested blood, sweat, tears, time, effort and err.................... oh yeah, money in improving it to make it what it is today. It's not just the car, it's the virtual kick in the Jacobs that you'll get at losing all you've invested in it!
