A lot of cars have better seats than the Inscription Pro seats, they are the worst we have ever had and have to use a gel cushion so we can drive it and the gearbox is just to hesitant even with Polestar. The cars we have had was a big GMC SUV and now have a Jeep Grand Cherokee which has a very hard ride.

I have the standard R-Design seats... and i think they are comfy. But for sure not the best ones. I took a long time to create the perfect seat adjustment for me. I am 190cm, for sure not so tall as some others might be in this forum, but i am a heavy man, around 110kg. And until i found the perfect adjustment i didn't give up. In the first weeks i was always changing some adjustment, a little bit here, a little bit there, a minor adjustment, after a bigger one. I was not convinced and i was not feeling totally comfortable. I think as someone once said in here, you sit on the seats and not in the seats. I am referring to R-Design seats. Short phrase and a good observation. Right now as i have two memories for the driver seat, one more upright to a more sporty drive position and keeping some space for the person who sits behind me and 2nd memory for a more relaxed long drive journey with a more inclined and more stretched seat position.
I have a family member who owns the new 5-series BMW, equipped with Comfortable seats option, integral "Merino" leather option and those are probably one of the best seats i ever sat on, in my entire life. Comfy ones and for long journeys, hours of travel and at the end it seems you just sat there for 10 minutes maximum.

Hi everyone, new member from Canada, originally from Sheffield. Just purchased a 2022 XC60 Recharge R-Design. Love the car but the seats just may be one of the most uncomfortable I’ve sat in during my 50+ years of driving. They of course felt fine during the limited test drive. For me the issue is just under the top of my thighs, it feels like I’m sitting on 2 golf balls. I’m 6’ 3” and 220 lb so not a small guy, but not huge either. I’m now searching for the perfect gel seat pad. The sports seats in my X3 were significantly more comfortable.
Outside of that I have no complaints, but it’s only been a couple of weeks Last edited by davetcan; Mar 12th, 2022 at 20:00. |

London, Ontario?
I'm a bit lighter than you but similar height, I damaged my back about 40 years ago so I'm very fussy about seats. Having decided that I could get in and out of an XC60 I then spent hours at the dealership trying all the different seat types before settling on what I bought. You're right though, a short test drive is not much use. Many years ago I had a test drive in a Vauxhall Omega, after a couple of miles I parked it and walked back to the dealer and gave him the keys. Similar with a Subaru although the salesman was with me that time so he drove it back, I walked.

Yes, London Ontario 😊
A gel seat should fix the problem but I’m surprised I need it. So far the leg extension isn’t bothering me and that seems to be the most common complaint. |

I sat in an XC60 R design in the showroom and I must admit I was not so impressed with the seats, when compared to those in the XC90. Not sure what the difference was, maybe they are the same, but those in the XCX90 just felt more comfortable, more substantial. Finally opting for the momentum seats over the R design as a more comfortable option. Time will tell.
My previous car was a BMW X3 M40i with the M seats, whilst generally comfortable, they had very intrusive seat base bolsters that dug into my thighs as the seat base is very narrow, a thin memory foam square purchased from Amazon for around £15 solved the issue, being just thick enough to lift my thighs, releasing the pressure. I think this would work for the XC60. Before the X3 I had a 5 series with the comfort seats as mentioned by a previous poster, however in my case they were trimmed in std leather, not merino. They were not so comfortable for me, the stitching was raised. and hard, it dug into my legs over time and at the back of the seats I felt like something hard was digging into the base of my bum. I was very uncomfortable on long journeys. What one person finds comfortable another finds uncomfortable, so maybe there is no perfect car seat. |

I recently bought a 2022MY XC60 R-Design Pro and find the seats comfortable, even on a long journey. Much better than the V60 Momentum I had previously. I’m 6’3 but a bit of a stick insect.

Have a V60 on order and the “comfortable/not comfortable” debate here makes me a little anxious. Currently run a V70 D5 2015 MY. I have to say car is comfortable, but much of that is due to suspension rather than the seat. My old P2 V70’s were also comfortable, but that was because the seats masked the short comings of the suspension. Those old P2 seats were the most comfortable seats I have EVER sat in, during 50+ years of motoring. Volvo seating appears to be moving away from their position of making the most comfortable seating in the motor industry..
Cheers Bob. |

Having owned several BMW's there were sport seats, comfort seats and M sport seats, on forums each drew praise and criticism. From my posteria perspective, the Volvo seats in general seem to be at the better end of the seat comfort spectrum |
