Android Auto

Hi,

Just took delivery of an XC60 R Design 2019 and was wondering if this should have Android Auto already installed? It has 2 usb ports but cannot see an app for it on the sensus.

My understanding is Android Auto is a paid element.

Originally Volvo cars only had 1x USB port and so android auto/car play was not possible. However Volvo have got round that issue with installing 2x USB ports.

So you have the hardware just not the software.

There is also talk that Google will soon be installed in new Volvos (from 2021) over their own software which would make Android Auto come as standard.

I thought that might be the case. Volvo don't make it easy to find this info out. I still haven't had ant info from my dealer regarding the 100gb sim so not confident they will know anything about android auto either

As stated above, Volvo now fit two USB ports but Android auto is a £300 optional extra. Which is a big con. But it makes it an easy after market install having already being fitted with two USB ports.

The specification gudie (which your dealer should have supplied you with) will say that Smartphone Integration comes with either of the audio upgrades or is available as a £300 dealer fit option. As already stated all vehicles do now come with 2 x USB (and they all have the white box around what would be the Smartphone connection if the software is installed)

It is not a standard feature on the vehicle, so wouldn't ever be installed unless you specify it.

I have a big screen, sensus and app volvo (meteo, internet...) but only one black USB
