Default Continental All Season Contact

My Pirelli tyres have done about 18k miles and still do have about 4mm thread however to prepare for the worst winter in decades I'm planning to invest in some decent all season tyres. I chose all season over winter tyres to also deal with the extreme wet weather.

From research it looks like Continental All Season Contact wins hands down.
I'm struggling to find one in 20" fitment though (255/35/20).

Just wondering if anyone else had any luck? Other option is to purchase smaller alloys but from a quick Google it looks like I would spend nearly 1k just on the alloys.

Camskill have about the widest range of tyres for sale that I've ever come across; looking for your tyre size in the all weather section only reveals one result and that's for the Vredestein Quatrac Pro...I think that your options are going to be seriously limited unless, as you suggest, you change to some smaller rims.

I think Continental doesn't offer a 20" all-season. You can check their website.
If you have to buy alloys, you may consider to buy winter tyres.

Nothing to suggest this winter will be any different from the last ten years except continuing the trend of a bit warmer and wetter.

From the above article:

"There is a 57 per cent chance the central England temperature will be colder than in 2018, thus making it the coldest January-February since 2013."

So basically its a coin toss between this coming winter being colder than last year and this coming winter being warmer than last year.

In other words it may be snowy, and on the other hand it could be a barbecue winter...

That hasn't been the trend at all, and globally the trend is in the other direction as well.

Thanks all for the reply. This winter is definitely going to be very horrible. The signs are there, just look at the rain currently. I'd expect massive disruption to travel; roads, trains and airplanes.

In my opinion I don't think running summer tyres over winter would be recommended.

The vedrestein tyres linked are not really rated well for wet braking.

I've had a look at the Volvo accessories web site and there are a few options for alloys. Shame it doesn't really list the exact fitment as I'm planning to purchase the alloys elsewhere. Thinking of going 18" but not too sure about tyres, torn between all season and winters (which in the UK is not the studded tyres).

Anyone run a second set of alloys and tyres for winter?
