Default Keyless entry issues - driving me mad

My car is starting to literally drive me mad. My keyless entry has stopped responding and even the buttons on the remote dont work. This is the same on 2 keys. I stand next to the car and nothing, after about 30 seconds of trying the button it will open and keyless will work fine for a bit. Then when I try to start I'll get key not found message. I've also noticed everything else in the car is slow to respond, the radio is sluggish, usb playback, sat nav etc.

It's as if the whole car has a virus! I'm wondering if there's a way to hard reset everything? Would disconnecting the battery do this? The car is driving me nuts as I've been getting soaked because the thing wont open!

Any help would be appreciated, I'm reluctant to take it to Leatherhead Volvo after my last experience with them, In fact they have probably screwed this up...

No doesn't work on any of the two keys. Once the car wakes up it works fine for a while. Then say after 10 mins of the car being locked it is unresponsive again. It's really weird... Also doesn't respond to the remote buttons, then once they do respond it works fine..

I think the xc90 has 2 batteries. If anyone could advise on how to do a reset that would be great. It may also sort the poor performance of the sensus system which is grinding to a halt!

Maybe both fob batteries need replacing.

One has been replaced not too long ago. I've ordered 2 new batteries though. I think the issue is related to the sluggish sensus performance. Its acting like a pc low on system resources, taking ages to do anything..

Ignition off, key away.
Disconnect the battery in the boot by removing the black negative connector at the battery post.
Don't disconnect the cable just before the white flat device, it is fragile.
Leave it for (at least?) 10 minutes, then reconnect.
