Default False alarms

Has anybody experience of the alarm going off for no reason, often in the early hours of the morning. No problem found with the car, but it's happened six times in the last few weeks. I need some sleep! Any advice more than welcome. Thanks.

If it's the same as the Vaxhaul alarms you may need to take it to Volvo to plug into their computer and get a reading from it.

Good Luck

Stu

this can be caused by water in the alarm bit (dunno which bit) !!

a guy at Gaydon pointed this out when we were talking about how clean under his bonnet was and after usind a hose pipe under there he had this kind of problem until it dried out

probably no use to you what-so-ever but thought id let you know

cheers

Had this problem for a while. It was caused by a moth which hid in the dash board during the day, but only came out at night !!!!

PS. It was probably me who was the guy above who washed his engine.

Thanks for that Stu. At a cost of nearly £60 they advise that it might be the motion sensor (Ultrasonic or infra-red ?) and that it might be worthwhile replacing this at £200 plus fitting. They also advise shutting all the facia vents before setting the alarm to prevent a draught setting things off, and also making sure the seat belts are fully retracted before leaving the vehicle.
All good stuff I'm sure, meanwhile back on planet Earth I've decided to lock the car with the key, thus not setting any alarm and see what happens next. So far three good nights sleep!
