Default Is it possible to retrofit Electric Child Locks on '03 V40?

I have an '03 V40 1.6S and I was reading my manual last night when I noticed that Electric Child Locks was an option. Does anyone know if this option can be retrofitted as it would be really useful to have this option.

The actual fitting shouldn't be too difficult, esp if you get the correct parts from a breakers - You will prob find that all of the wiring is actually in place, and it may just work when fitted, if not, a dealer should be able to enable it..

When we had our Galaxy a few years ago, I retrofitted cruise control AND the trip computer - It was just a case of fitting the switches, and then enabling the option in the ECU, which I did myself with VAG-Com, shame there's nothing similar for the Volvos, best £200 I ever spent on diagnostic equipment!

Hi, I can confirm that, at least, part of the wiring is already in situ - recently took the centre of the dash out of my 53 V40 1.8SE to replace the blown climate control blubs. While doing this I noticed that attached to the back of the blanking button (I don't know what they're called!) was some wiring, which I assume is for the ECLs.

This has got me thinking about retro fitting this option, so would be really interested in how you get on, if you try this; or if anyone else has any other info about how this can be done.

Thanks,

Marc
