Default cold star problem

Hi All,

When ambient temperature is 30-35 degrees, engine starts but runs poorly then picks up and settles to variable tick over. eventually settles to aprox 1000 RPM. Engine then starts normally during the rest of the day.

today it started ok even though the temperature was down to freezing, any ideas from anyone how to remedy this problem.
many thanks.

DJC.

Hi well it’s going to be one of a couple of things but first please explain engine size and state of tune i.e. what’s been done to it (plugs, leads, rotor arm and cap, injector seals, test of green relay function and fuse 4 and 6) if it’s 2.3?

What happened to my post suggesting you read the other thread on intermittant poor starting? It's vanished.

I think I also suggested that checking the cold-start temperature sensor in the engine block might be a good starting point?
