Default C30 Xenon lights - poor

What bulbs are people using in their xenon lights as I find them really poor. My BMW xenon lights in my 135i and the LED lights in our Mini Cooper S are miles better.

Car is a 60 plate

OEM Xenon fitment was originally Philips 85122 D2S 4300k for all the P1 platform. The facelifted C30/C70 (slanty headlights) take D3S, not sure of the bulb ref though.

From your plate, yours and mine should be the same, and I find mine to be very good when they're not trying to compete with an oncoming barrage of armour-piercing LED's - and therein lies the problem, IMHO.

You could have the beam height checked, although I've never felt that my current C70 suffers on that score. The pre-facelift lights, halogen and Xenon alike, were all notoriously low-set from the factory though. I did have to raise the beams substantially on my previous (Xenon-equipped) C70.

Thanks for the reply, I will ask RT this Friday to have a look.

Low beam height would make sense. LED, they are standard on our MCS and very good, plus it’s got auto adaptive lights too. Which makes it even better
