Hi folks greetings from a newbie. I wonder can anyone help me trace the roots / history of my new purchase . It is a 122s THK 376E any information will be gratefully received. I have owned a v70r estate and a 850 cd 20v estate. I loved both these cars but nothing puts a smile on my face as the amazon does. I havent seen any other amazons in my location, so if I go to a rally I would like to share its history with others.
Regards Ken

If you type in "check car MoT history" a GOV website comes up, but its only good for the last dozen years or so, no good for deep past.
For your car there is an interesting gap of ten years before 2016 - probably SORNd as the mileage barely changed (so wasn't abroad).

Back in the early 80's I used to own THK374E which was a green Volvo 1800S. Your Amazon will have been sold by the same dealer on more or less the same day. I believe that THK registrations were put on cars sold new in Essex but I can't tell you the name of the dealership unfirtunately.

You can email the archives in the Volvo Museum in Sweden with your chassis number. They may be able to give you the date of manufacture and dispatch as well as the engine no, gearbox no, body no and country of delivery from their chassis register. At least that will give you information about the "birth" of your car.

Their email address is Adm.historical.archive (at) volvo.com
