Default smoke tester opinion.

Hello.
WHere do you guys think is the best place on a 2.4 D5 to connect the smoke tester to check for boost leaks.
I was told after the MAF....
Is this ok, or there is other places you think that are more effective?

Thank You

pull the big hose off the Air flow sensor on the air filter and connect the smoke there .

I made one.

1 lt can, two holes on the lead. One for the compressor go in and a vacuum tube on the other. I used my model making compressor, some paper inside the can some olive oil, and set fire to it. Lead on. Compressor on...nice thick smoke. With a plastic cup with hole the bottom fits perfectly on the air box after the MAF.
Less than a min smoke is getting out.

Read my help and you see how thick is the smoke ...can miss it

I've seen a home made one with a glass jar, pen, sondering iron, an old sock and baby oil on youtube.

Needless to say I have not got around to making it yet but as a diyer I'd not want to fork out ££ on one.

It assume you block one end and pump the smoke in the other?

I built a pressure tester, see posts and pictures. This sounds great.

what pressure do you apply?

One side is connected to the compressor, the other inside the tube after the MAF. I used 10 to 12 psi.
