2nd fob is also giving warning!! So 4 batteries on order!!!

I’m thinking I should really order another pair of batteries and pop them in the glove box. Seems this could be a valid plan b?

New batteries are on order and should arrive this week.

What happens if the batteries die though?
I know i’ll be able to get in the car with the blade of the key, but will I be able to start the car?

I guess I could test this by removing the batteries, but i’ll wait until I have brand new ones to hand.

Seems odd not to have a plan b option? Or is there one?
It'll be in the owners manual somewhere. You can use the key to insert behind the floating consol to disengage the gearshift interlock but not sure what the starting process is.

Plan B is indeed in the user's manual.

First, open the door with the mechanical key. Do that occasionally even when you don't need to, or your lock may be stuck when you actually do need it.

The alarm will go off when you open the door like this. To mute it, insert the key in the ignition key slot and press the start button. The communication with the keyless fob will work, even without batteries in the fob, provided it's inserted in the key slot.

Now you can start the car in the normal way.

But as long as you don't have batteries in the fob, you'll have to live with that the alarm goes off each time you open the door, and that you'll have to put the fob in the slot to start the engine.

One of ours eats batteries, following a run through the washing machine.
Dried out in a bag with rice. Works but batteries die fast.
Get new fob and get cloned at (some) shoe shop.

you don't need batteries to get the engine started it uses a transponder in the key . The batteries are only for the remote locking .

Ive had similar issues....my solution was when changing batteries again I carefully cleaned all the terminals with alcohol swabs but more importantly I prized up all the little contact tongs to give them a little more contact and result has been 100% perfectly working fob!!
