Gearbox problems
HI could anybody help with gearbox problem .I have a 1997 s40 1.8 when the car is cold getting reverse gear is difficult .when the car is hot it is just about imposible . PS 1st and 2nd can be quit notchey .hope summone can advise CHEERS.

Is reverse top left or bottom right?
If top left you have the Renault box and it will be the linkage bushes that need replacing - most likely front linkage bushes by the gearbox. New bushes cost about a tenner and take 20 mins to fit. If reverse bottom right you have the Volvo box: if so, I have no idea what the problem is.
