  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default Wire mesh air filter

Should these be oiled? I give mine a light coating.

First,May I compliment you on that super clean engine bay? I would try cooking a nice piece of steak on the exhaust manifold if it were mine!
To get back to your question, on the 'B' series bmc engines with,I think,Zenith carb. that used a wire mesh filter,and the recommendation was ,to clean and re-oil frequently.

Check your handbook.
Wash in petrol every 2500miles, more frequently if the car is used in dusty conditions, and allow to dry. Dip filter into engine oil and allow to drain. Refit to carbs.

It's the one that came with the filter. The stickers for the blue with paper are white. But never the less I will do as you indicated previously. Thanks.

This handbook page is from a 444 book with a B14 engine. Don't see why they would change the instructions. In your case, take your pick.
