Default dpf rengen too often

2014 xc60 2.4 awd 65000 miles on it, just been serviced in may by local volvo indie, oil changed refilled to 70% as had oil rising issues last year, 4-5 weeks after service, oil had risen and some drained off to 70% again, another 4-5 weeks engine service required oil overfilled message comes up again, it is booked in to be looked at next week. indie owner very vague and not saying alot til hes looked at it but we are concerned about whats causing the problem and the cost of the repair. any ideas or advice. many thanks

I had the same with mine and it turned out to be a faulty injector. Mine was on cylinder 1.

Changed that, changed the oil and filter and has been fine since.

Mine has since been regening often, but checking the soot contents using Delphi software it was at 26.6 grams. I did a forced regen which has taken it down to 8 grams.

Don’t let it drag on, get it sorted. I know
This is obvious but this is what killed my XC90. Excess fuel being injected for the regen washes the cylinder walls. My piston rings died and the engine burned oil faster than diesel in the end, Volvo’s answer was a new engine at £9000!

volvo indie couldn't find anything wrong with the car after checking particulate pressurres etc, also rung the local volvo main dealer for advice, they suggested a forced regen which they carried out, reset oil level to 75%. we have to do 200 miles then take back for them to check and compare readings, so will be taking back early next week as going to bedford and back tomorrow.
