Default C70 wing mirror problem ?

Hi I have a problem with my passenger wing mirror on my 07 c70 se and would be very grateful for any advice or help.
the mirrors are electric and folding and my c70 is a 2.4 auto and the problem is when I select reverse the mirror motor dips the mirror down and keeps going until I adjust the mirror again. It has gone up instead a couple of times and I took it to volmech who said it might have a park assist fitted and thought it might be the motor at fault but volvo said they had never heard of such a thing so i'm a bit stumped and its becoming frustrating having to reset the mirror every time I reverse...strangely the drivers mirror did it once but hasn't since so I think it might be a relay or senser.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the electric seats and 3 memory locations? If so the mirror position is tied in with the seat memory. Wondered if somehow you were triggering going to a different seat/mirror memory position. I've set the memories on mine to just change mirror position so I can see the rear wheel/kerb to make sure I don't kerb the alloys. Sad, I know.

No worries. Even if its not the root cause, should be just a button press to return them to whichever memory location the standard position is memorised in.

The previous car I had, not a Volvo but it had elec memory seats and when you selected reverse it changed the mirror position to suit better for reversing and then went back to normal when put back into drive.
