Have this set in the program guide for tonight.
Those photos don't look good the 940 roof looks bent back to the B pillar. Going to make interesting viewing.

My bet is on the Renault coming out on top, with the Volvo driver most likely dead. It seems a fair enough point to make that the safest cars will also be the newest designs (unless they're Chinese of course) and Renault appear to have made a lot of effort in crash protection. Wouldn't own one mind - the whole process assumes it would have been driven far enough to crash without breaking down.

Hi,
Yea, they say that only one driver would have survived the crash... And from the looks of that image, it was not Mr Volvo driver. Des. . .

Missing the point
|
The latest cars are very very strong. The volvo is obviously going to come off worse otherwise why would renault donate one to be tested? They seem to have had a few of their cars trashed recently, 2 espaces and this one I can think of. The espaces came out very well indeed against an older generation espace and an older land rover discovery. It seems the passenger "cage" is virtually indestructable and once the crumple zones has crumpled up there isnt any more "yield", unlike older cars. Dont forget though the 940 is a direct relation to the 740 and that came out in 1983!
