Default Haldex Gen 3 UK my

Hi all

I am looking for a gen 3 haldex xc70 at the moment. I think that the model year 2006 had it.

Is it safe to say then If i look for xc70 built (not registered) after sept 2005 i will be safe?

Current one i am looking at is a early 2006 build. I think it should have the gen3 unit but want to be safe.

thanks all

AFAIK the "old" shape cars, P2 in other words, are Gen 1 haldex from 2003 to 2005 (05 plate) and then Gen 2 haldex from 2005 (55 plate) to 2007. Obviously there'll be a bit of crossover with cars built around the changeover time being registered a bit later. Buy 06 to be certain.
Gen 2 gives "instant on" power to the rear wheels where gen 1 had a very slight delay before the rear wheels kicked in

If you want a Gen 3 haldex then you need the P3 new shape XC … or XC60

nice info thanks.

Yes defo the instant-on feature i am after. thanks very much. The old 99 v70 is due for a replacement. If i can get the slightly fancier 2007 body coloured door mirrors etc ill be happy. Budget doesnt get me into the P3 new shape xc's yet.

My searches on autotrader etc are set between 4k and 6800K was hoping a budget for a late well sorted & speced sensible miles p2 about 5k. . Upto 7 for a p3 but those are high milers and even still not quite in range.

So far seen lots of gear tronics around 100k miles displaying issues with hard shifting and various VB issues. so almost resolving myself that a auto will probably need the VB doing sooner than later.

Late 06/07 manual would be ideal but seldom come up with nice miles (like rocking horse poop)

I still have it and will be going up for sale again at the end of July.
The Price will be dropped to about 3200 . Looking at your wish list it does not meet your criteria.
However I can vouch that all the work that has needed doing was done at the time.
The only issues is the alarm service ,a new module will go with the car.I also have put the original wheels back on.
