Injector replacement
My wife's much loved March 2003 reg. V70 D5 with 120k miles is turning into money pit! I am in the throes of getting the dreaded plastic bung which causes a major oil leak replaced, but understand that injectors may be next on for expense, if not the intercooler. Earlier this year the DIM was fixed...
My question is: Is there an easy way for me to check whether this particular car will suffer early injector failure? Range of car serial numbers maybe? Any help much appreciated! |

It was 2002 model year. The general guide is if you have silver instrument dial rings, your car is built after the problem.
Mine lasted until 170000 miles and even then it was only one at fault which I fixed for £50 from a breakers which is cheaper than a tyre or battery so no big deal. Either way, don't worry about it.
