Don't know if the stuff helps, but I used to get a shot of Redex every time I filled up at the punp. This was my first car, a 1949 Jowet Bradford, in Elgin Scotland. The 1000 cc, flat twin side-valve engine was a real workhorse.... never letting me down. May be it was the Redex...............

By the way, I understood it to be an upper cylinder lubricant.

Hey up,

Used Redex on my diesel, fixed a lumpy idle. Used it on a Polo petrol and it cured lumpy acceleration.

All in all, can't argue with it!

Many Thanks,

Daniel.

And BG44k beats everything. Just finished a treatment through my GDi. Car is noticeably smoother, and dodgy idle completely gone

......always willing to find better things that work so i bought a tin of this stuff off the bay £18 delivered!!.....and it was in a full tank of 95 octane in the T4 on a run from the South Coast to Gloucester and back 380 mls straight off all motorway and fast dual carriageway ......outward journey a bit stuttery i think due to the 95Ron (first time i have put in in the tank) and the BG44K probably doing it`s job......on the way home the T4 went like the proverbial rocket so smooth and sensitive to the throttle......didn`t notice any difference to the consumption, but then it was a fast drive 28 mpg......

.....on the tin they recommend every 12000mls to use it but at that price now i have use it once i will go back to the STP at only £4.99 from Halfrouds...

Got some redex today and mixed with 18 litres in my tank. Defiantly made difference. Accelerates with more power and feels more responsive. Will be putting that in more often.

You're meant to make it last at least a week, it's better to put the BG44K in then do lots of short journeys to make the tank last. Burning it all through in one big journey means you haven't let it do its thing!

......i am always willing to learn but i cannot see any substance in your method of use!!.....i have just read what it says on the empty tin in the garage and it only says put it in the tank.........the engine will only burn petrol when it is turned on so that is when it cleans the build up of carbon from everything and it will do it much better with everything really hot ,cat. as well.........the engine is never hot on a short journey and that is when carbon build up will happen easier defeating the object of the product....
