exhaust backfire
Hi, I have a 1998 V70, 2.5, 20v petrol.Last year a new cat and exhaust were fitted together with a PCV kit. Recently the exhaust has started popping/backfiring when I lift off the accelerator.I have yet to clean the throttle body and fit a new rear silencer. Research on here indicates that excess fuel might be the cause of the popping but I dont know which part of the engine would cause the excess fuel. I would appreciate help please. thanks.

dont worry about it mate if its below 15/1600 rpm. its idle fuel just hitting a hot exhaust and getting air from there rather than through the inlet as throttle plate is pretty much shut.
if its higher up the rpm then check your TPS is returning to 0%
