Are Scandix easy to deal with as I was going to buy one of those tools to put on the shelf for when it is needed.

I have had good dealings with Scandix for several obscure parts for my TDI engine, all recent purchases. I wouldn't expect the parts overnight, but they generally turn-up within the week. I now use Scandix and CarPartsOnline (also Germany) for most of my obscure Volvo parts, and the prices are pretty reasonable as well!

I received the tool within 4 days. I changed a bush today and the rear of the car feels.really good no more jitteriness over corners on bumps etc.
